Vaimaila Urale utilises moving image documentation methods to create familial monuments to memory. Her video work, "Brothers & Sisters" (2007), examines narrative storytelling to retell one violent incident retold by four siblings.

Vaimaila is currently completing a Bachelor of Visual Arts at Auckland University of Technology, majoring in sculpture. Interested in collaborative processes in art making, she is also a member of arts collective - Li'l Mama's Art Klub.
